| During various dates throughout the year, experience the awe and excitement of a major meteor shower from the observatory site's great lawn. Family gatherings under falling stars is the perfect way to bond and learn about the heavens. At the specified dates, meteor sessions may run well into the morning hours during the peak of a major shower. The background image here is such a shower where numerous Leonids of the 2001 shower were captured on long exposure film. The site offers camera mounts for your SLRs and other imaging devices to capture these spectacular events. The observatory and its telescopes are also available for casual viewing if you desire observing other heavenly bodies besides falling stars.
